Along with harmonica maestro Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield had a major influence on young Robben, and Patrick Ford. His recordings with the Butterfield Blues Band, Electric Flag and Al Kooper were regulars on their turntables. In those days during the late '60s, Bloomfield was regarded one of the very best guitar players, worldwide, along with E.C. and Jimi Hendrix. Patrick Ford did a good job. This is not merely a one-to-one copy of the originals. This album brings back to life those cuts made famous by Bloomfield, and - most important - they are carrying a great portion of feeling. Beautiful. A great album if you're into exquisite guitar playing.
