OVERLIFE - LAST MILLENNIUM? - 2001

OVERLIFE is a progressive metal band formed in Spain in 1993 by Javier Martinez (guitars) and Faricio Carlotta (drums).Guitarist Javier Marco soon joined them and they started rehearsing.Bassist Dani and vocalist Sergio joined and in 1994 OVERLIFE'S initial line-up was complete.
This line-up recorded and released the "Ideales Muertos" (Dead Deals) demo,which didn't do much to garner attention for the band or their music.Exit Dani and Sergio and enter vocalist Leandro Martinez,whose could sing in a wider range and in a higher register.Also rounding out this newest line-up was Roberto Bonus on bass and Sergio Sanchez on keyboards.
This newest line-up recorded OVERLIFE'S full length debut "Between Passion and Madness",which was released in 1998.Martinez left the group after this album and OVERLIFE found his permanent replacement in vocalist John Negrete.The band went into the studio with their new singer and in 2001 released their sophomore album "Last Millenium?".
The band,having been plagued with frequent personnel changes in their short history would suffer another loss when drummer and founding member Fabricio Carlotta left the group.OVERLIFE recruited drummer Nacho Mena and released their third album "El despertar" in 2007.
OVERLIFE music is a nice mix of progressive metal with some power metal influences with vocals sung in Spanish and they are highly recommended to progressive metal fans.
