Symbian - The Skywatcher

The Art of Skywatching begins with gentle sequence and very cool piano that reminds of Software's orchestrations on Fire-Works. You tell me it was released in 1998? Yeah, but now I can tell who was the first... Track continues with powerful synth & sax leads. Night Awakes goes straight on. With very organic sequencing it comes to the main part with sax leading. Mostly reminds of something by Robert Schroeder, but without sax of course. On the Watch from the first notes shows us mighty bass lines and catchy synth grooves. Again a very big feel of Schroeder's Computer Voice with his known short impact sounds. Epic feeling of A Distant Memory and sweeping just like the title returns us to the Jarre's Equinoxe or Rendez-Vous. No deep sequeces, but just as a melody itself. If you like JMJ's classic titles, you'll should listen to this track. The Ultimate Challenge is stolen from Robert Schroeder's album... Of course no, but the basslines and short synths for sure made in his style. Then track morphs to powerful Software orchestrations. First part ends on 5th minute and here begins another. This one is close to Tangerine Dream of 80-85. Slow sequencing and sensual melody gives a feeling of flying over a large canyon. And then cool leads comes... again Schroeder, but it's not bad, it's great for sure. Escape to Nowhere gives a short look to Asian music, but filled with electronics from top to bottom. Symbian mostly don't use any rhythm here it's made only with orchestral drums and sequences. Hiding Places returns to deep basslines and catchy leads of the first tracks. Starting Into Deep goes to more ambient territory, begins with not very melodic pads which only gives more points to this album. Track even has a little tribal feel. But in the middle it becomes more or less melodic with sax leading. And then the main sequence finishes the painting. You already understand that the end of this wonderful recording is near... The closing Lonely Skywatcher flows from previous track continuously and reveals the theme from first track with variations and without any rhythm. This creates a unique farewell feeling.
