My own point of view:
Excelent musician and composer , sad enough died still young. Francisco music is avangarde mixing neoclassical style with brazil folk music. Very melodic and very, very beautiful.
His albuns are rare and difficult to find. This album is a true masterpiece, do not miss this download !

Biography:
Composer and guitarist Francisco Mário was born on 1948 in Minas Gerais state. He studied guitar, economics, graduate studies in systems engineering , was a journalist and music critic .
Since five years of age, Chico showed musical interest playing bongo, conga and guitar, with the encouragement of his brother Betinho, which met with their class and heard Bach, Tchaikovsky and Chopin. Another major responsibility for his musical training was hemophilia, a disease that forced to lie for hours and hours playing the guitar. Uncle Gerard was Bocaiúva, north of Minas Gerais, Belo
Horizonte and taught Chico Mario playing viola. One day, Bernard appeared, fantastic guitarist who died in the day that would give first class of Chico Mario - was a challenge in the air for the young guitarist.
In 1978 he was living in Rio de Janeiro, where the possibilities for a career in music were way better back then. Soon to mingle in the environment in Rio, began to play, calling attention to his talent. At that time, he studied theory and arranging with Professor Roberto Gnattali, responsible for the arrangements of his first show "Black Gold", held at Parque Laje and UFRJ, along with musicians such as Marcos Ariel (flute), Henrique Drach (cello ), Alberto Gabeira (bass), Maria Antonia (flute) and Marcos Dantas (percussion). Dedicated, courageous and idealistic, in 1979 she recorded her first album, "Earth," also released in Mexico and praised by Carlos Drummond de Andrade. With the cover of Noguchi, the disc features guest Joyce, Quarteto em Cy, Antonio Adolfo, Airton Barbosa, Chiquinho of Accordion, among others.
In 1980, Francisco Mario enters the studio to record the album "Revolta dos Palhaços", with the help of 200 people who bought the album before getting ready. Chico said: "With this record I denounce the illusion set up to see our reality in underdeveloped third world country and that might even shock people who were dreaming and would not agree, preferring to believe in the false reality recreated every day." In the liner notes, a large circus tent Nani signed by the cartoonist in the co-producers signed, bought and supported the idea of independent disk. Partnerships with poets like Aldir Blanc and Paulo Emilio, Fernando Rios, journalist Tárik de Souza, actor Gianfrancesco Guarnieri, and features performances by Ivan Lins, MPB-4, Lucinha Lins, Boca Livre, Mauro Senise, Luiz Claudio Ramos, Danilo Caymmi, Djalma Correa, among others. And with cover Henfil brother, was formed the greatest show on earth, the album "Revolt of the Clowns".
In 1981, he received an invitation to attend the 5th Festival of oppositionists in Mexico. For the first time, Chico left Brazil and went to show his music to the world, resulting in the release of their first album "Terra" in Mexico by Foton Records and a two-week stay in Miami for free, since, when the hotel owner who had discovered Brazilian musicians in his hotel, done playing until six in the morning and time to pay the bill, did not accept. At the festival, which was attended by musicians from around the world and an audience of 15,000 people, Mario Francisco, Djalma Correa, Henrique Drach were applauded with hands and feet, having to climb seven times on stage to encore. That same year, recorded an album with Julian Francis - who had just returned from exile - "Verses and Viola", banned by the censors at the time. Was impressed with the responsiveness of its Mexican chorinhos and sorrel, which played an encore of the show in Mexico, Chico, arriving in Brazil, decided to record his first instrumental album "Conversa de Cordas, couros, palhetas e metais, which was named best disc of instrumental music of 1983, receiving the trophy "Chiquinha Gonzaga." Along with the disc, also released a book of poems "Brazilian Panel. With the cover of Elifas Andreato, photo by Fernando Carvalho and participation of experts like Rafael Rabello, Nivaldo Ornelas, Zeca Assumpção, and Adolfo Antonio Afonso Machado, Chico bought more of a struggle to impose themselves on the market and make room for Facing all sorts of obstacles, managed to impose himself and released an instrumental album in 1985, "Pijama de seda," a name of songs dedicated to Pixinguinha. Besides this, another song, one of the most beautiful, "Resurrection", in honor of his brother Henfil with eight guitars played by Chico. In 1986, he releases "Retratos," the Brazilian sources seeking the essence of his music, returning to mix rhythms which honors from Joao Gilberto to the Indians Pankararés. On side A, the bucolic north and fatalistic, and, on the B side, south of progress and trickery. From urban to rural, giving a general in Brazilian music, with a touch of good neighborhood and in music "Cuba" Dedicated to Silvio Rodriguez and Pablo Milanes, the album has a beautiful cover and paint Lobianco. Dorival Caymmi, Luiz Gonzaga, Waldir Azevedo, Baden Powell, was quoted in this work of Mario Francisco.
In November of that year, Chico Mario did his last show, presenting their new music project "Suite Brazil", in the catacombs, a project that has successfully promoted by RioArte. The following month, with pneumonia, he learned that contracted the AIDS virus, infected by blood transfusion. After he left the hospital in early 1987, went to Farm Serra in Itatiaia with family and composed his last three works: "Dance do Mar", "Suite Brazil" and "Tempo". In October 1987, enters the studio Sonoviso and turns his later work on disk. "Dance do Mar," seven movements that reflect the changes of nature and the seasons. A hard learned, with each movement spent at sea, summer, autumn, winter, spring, Calm, Dawn and Storm. In each strip, two interpretations, String Quartet Chico Bosisio and guitar with guests.
