Roderick David "Rod" Stewart, CBE (born 10 January 1945) is a British singer-songwriter and musician, born and raised in North London, England and currently residing in Epping. He is of Scottish and English lineage. With his distinctive raspy singing voice, Stewart came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s with The Jeff Beck Group and then Faces. He launched his solo career in 1969 with his debut album An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down (US: The Rod Stewart Album). His work with The Jeff Beck Group and Faces proved to be influential on the formation of the punk rock and heavy metal genres, respectively. With his career in its fifth decade, Stewart has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. In the UK, he has garnered six consecutive number one albums, and his tally of 62 hit singles include 31 that reached the top 10, six of which gained the number one position. He has had 16 top ten singles in the U.S, with four of these reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists". He was voted at #33 in Q Magazine's list of the top 100 Greatest Singers of all time. In 1994, Stewart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Foolish Behaviour is a studio album released by Rod Stewart on November 21, 1980 (see 1980 in music). It was Rod’s tenth solo studio album and was released on the Riva label in the United Kingdom (RVLP 11) and on Warner Bros. Records in both The United States (HS 3485) and Germany (WB 56 865). The tracks were recorded at The Record Plant Studios and Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles from February to September, 1980. “Passion”, “My Girl”, "Somebody Special", and "Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight" were released as singles. The video to another song on the album, "She Won't Dance With Me," was the third video to be played on MTV when it launched Aug. 1, 1981. The video contains use of the word "fuck" by Stewart which was never edited from the video. Foolish Behaviour peaked at #4 in the UK and at #12 on the US charts. It went platinum (UK) on January 8, 1981. Two months later on March 4, 1981 it reached platinum certification (US). The album contained one popular single, "Passion", which reached #5 on the singles chart in the US.

1981 Tonight I'm Yours
Tonight I'm Yours is a 1981 album by Rod Stewart. It features hints of Classic Rock, Pop and New Wave. The album had two hit singles with, title track "Tonight I'm Yours (Don't Hurt Me)" (#1 on charts), "Young Turks" (#2 on charts) and "How Long?".(# 2 on charts). Tonight I'm Yours saw Rod Stewart further adopting current musical trends after some disco-influenced songs on Blondes Have More Fun and Foolish Behaviour by adding elements of Synthpop and New Wave to a couple of songs (the title track, and "Young Turks"), while mostly keeping to his Rock traditions elsewhere. The album included three covers, "Tear It Up", "How Long?", and "Just Like a Woman". The song "Never Give Up on a Dream" was dedicated to Terry Fox, who ran 3,339 miles in the Marathon of Hope with one prosthetic leg. Fox died in 1981, the year the album was released. It also played during the audition process of the seventh season of American Idol, in 2008. The album was mostly well-received, receiving 4 stars alike from both Allmusic and Rolling Stone. On Allmusic, Stewart has not yet surpassed the 4-star rating that the album received with any of his subsequent releases. The album reached #11 on the "Pop Album Charts" in the USA, eventually going platinum. The song "Young Turks" was the biggest hit from the album, reaching #5 on the "Pop Singles" chart. "Young Turks", and four further singles, "How Long?", "Jealous", "Tonight I'm Yours (Don't Hurt Me)", and "Tora, Tora, Tora (Out With The Boys)", all peaked within the Top 50 of the "Pop Singles" and "Mainstream Rock" charts.

1984 Camouflage
Camouflage is a studio album released by Rod Stewart on June 18, 1984 (see 1984 in music). It was Stewart’s 13th studio album and was released on Warner Bros. Records (WEA 925 095-1). Three singles came from this album. They were “Infatuation”, “Some Guys Have All the Luck”, and a cover of the Free hit “All Right Now”. All the tracks were recorded at Lion Share Studio in Los Angeles, CA. Grammy award winning producer Michael Omartian produced all the songs except “Bad for You”, which was self-produced by Rod. In the liner notes a disclaimer alludes to a reason behind this. The album received similar reviews to its predecessor, Body Wishes, although Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic called it "relatively better", due to a couple of strong singles in "Infatuation" and "Some Guys Have All The Luck". A review was not given in Rolling Stone magazine, but in the review for the album's successor, Every Beat of My Heart, they called the album "overly slick". It currently holds the lowest rating on George Starostin's Music Reviews. Camouflage peaked at #8 on the UK charts and reached a silver sales certification on June 27, 1984. In the US it peaked at #18 and went gold on August 12, 1984. Although no single from the album reached the UK Top 10, two made the US Top 10, "Infatuation" (#6) and "Some Guys Have All the Luck" (#10).

Every Beat of My Heart is a studio album released by Rod Stewart on June 1986 (see 1986 in music). The album cover features the artist’s name quite prominently and thus the album is simply known in the United States as Rod Stewart. It is Rod’s 14th studio album and was released on Warner Bros. Records (WX 53 / 925 446-1). The tracks were recorded at One on One Studios, Can Am Recorders, The Village Recorder, The Record Plant, and Artisan Sound Recorders. It produced four singles, “Love Touch”, “Another Heartache”, “In My Life”, and the title track, “Every Beat of My Heart”. Included on this album is the song “Love Touch” which gained popularity as the theme to the Robert Redford film Legal Eagles. The album also includes a cover of Lennon/McCartney’s “In My Life”, one of several times Rod covered them. It was released as a single which failed to chart. According to the liner notes, this album is dedicated to Rod’s parents, Bob and Elsie Stewart. Every Beat of My Heart peaked at #5 in the UK and at #28 in the US. It received gold certification from the BPI, but failed to be certified by the RIAA.

Vagabond Heart is the 16th studio album by the singer-songwriter Rod Stewart, released in 1991. The album reached #10 in the US, and reached #2 in the UK. The album featured five singles, among them a cover for Robbie Robertson's song "Broken Arrow" (#20 in the U.S.) and Van Morrison's song "Have I Told You Lately" which is Rod Stewart's most recent Top Five solo hit in the US and the UK. The two biggest hits from the album were "Rhythm of My Heart" (#5 in the U.S.) and "The Motown Song" (#10 in the U.S.).
