Biography:
French instrumental trio consisting of guitar, keyboards and drums/vibraphone. This band recalls Shylock, but with a lot more angularity and urgency, the rapid-fire changes in time-sig and tempo within the music take place at a near schizophrenic pace. On the first album, guitar-keyboard interchanges take on a pyrotechnic feel, with later albums expanding on this basic style with more electronics. All three albums are very worthwhile, recommended for fans of mid-period King Crimson. Start with the first album or Parade.

Бельгийская группа Finnegans Wake появилась в 1993 году. Официальный первый альбом Yellow (1994) был записан в 1994 году! Основной стиль группы - это Прогрессив Рок, с вкраплениями Чембер! Впоследствии в группе произошла музыкальная революция - смена жанра, и, начиная с альбома Pictures (2002), уже явно чувствуется, как музыка Финнеганов постепенно меняет свое лицо! Из Прогрессивной команды группа превращается в явный Рио Авант-Прог, а временами оперный вокал добавляет еще и ощущение классики! Чем новее альбом, тем они становятся сложнее, в итоге в 2010 году выходит альбом The Bird And The Sky Above (2010), который уже звучит практически как джаз-авангард! Такие альбомы принято называть "личными".

Adderley's next-to-last recording (cut just four months before he died of a stroke at age 46) was ironically a retrospective of his career. While his then-current group (with cornetist Nat Adderley, keyboardist Mike Wolff, bassist Walter Booker, and drummer Roy McCurdy) was featured on half of this two-LP set (highlighted by "Stars Fell on Alabama," "74 Miles Away," and a medley of "Walk Tall" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy"), on the remainder of this two-fer the Adderleys welcome back several alumni (keyboardist George Duke, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Louis Hayes) for new versions of "High Fly," "Work Song," "Sack O'Woe," "Jive Samba," "This Here," and "The Sidewalks of New York." A recommended set with plenty of excellent music, it serves as a fine overview of Cannonball Adderley's career.

Harry Miller remains one of the unsung heroes of modern improvised music. A white, Jewish South African expatriate, Miller played a pivotal role on the '70s European jazz scene, co-founding the Ogun label and promoting the documentation and popularization of multicultural, African-inflected improvisation. He was also, however, a brilliant, powerful bassist who bedded a number of classic recordings, as well as a notable, if sparsely recorded, bandleader and composer.

Anna Moffo was one of the leading sopranos at the Metropolitan Opera in New York throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.
