Группа была основана в Саммерлине (Summerlin), провинциальном районе Лас-Вегаса, двумя друзьями детства — гитаристом Райаном Россом (Ryan Ross) и барабанщиком Спенсером Смитом (Spencer Smith). Когда обоим было по 13, друзья перепевали песни Blink-182 с разными составами группы. Затем Смит и Росс создают новую группу под названием «Pet Salamander» («Домашняя Саламандра») с двумя другими друзьями, Брентом Уилсоном (Brent Wilson) и гитаристом Тревором Хоувелом (Trevor Howell), который позже оставил группу.
Уилсон встретил будущего вокалиста Panic at the Disco в своей школе Palo Verde High School. "Little Richard's Greatest Hits - Recorded Live" is the second and last album from Little Richard for the Okeh label. Not a truly live album, it was recorded in the CBS Studios at Hollywood, with crowd noise mixed in. However, it was probably Richard's best-selling album of the 1960's and for good reason: his in-person charisma is captured on disc. Any fan of Rock'n'Roll, who wants to sample something other than Richards's 50s classics (or rerecordings of same) best jump into this one with both feet!

Avant-garde guitarist Keiji Haino's partnership with Ruins drummer and founder member Tatsuyo Yoshida is, as you'd expect, an ear-splitting, mind-bending atonal and percussive onslaught. Yoshida's splintered drumming is more than a match for Haino's bizarre, disjointed guitar and vocal rants--but though you'd never categorize this music as sensitive, it's thought-provoking and frequently surprisingly empathetic. And, though the tracks are named after well-known Manhattan thoroughfares, nervous visitors may be assured that they're rarely as chaotic as they're sonically portrayed here.

Whatever the limitations of Stravinsky's baton technique, no one else on disc conjures the same bustling excitement at the outset of Petrouchka. Overlapping, polyrhythmic textures in Petrouchka and in Le Sacre du Printemps come off with Mozartian lucidity, Mendelssonian lightness, and, well, Stravinsky-esque rhythmic exactitude (notwithstanding a few hesitant entrances). The clarity partly stems from the composer's use of his leaner revised scores, helped by close-up, analytical mike work by CBS. There are, of course, slicker, more sonically opulent versions of these 20th century landmarks. And then there are Stravinsky's.
