60th anniversary audiophile reissue of Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Cole Porter Songbook, the legendary recording which launched Norman Granz’s Verve Records label. This set was mastered from the original mono tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound, authored for SACD by Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center and is housed in a Stoughton old style tip-on mini LP jacket.
The year 1956 documented a great chapter in the history of jazz music: Norman Granz founded his third label, VERVE, managed to win Ella Fitzgerald (who has deserted DECCA) and initiated the Songbook Series which not only attracted a totally new listening public, but also established Ella’s reputation as the First Lady of Song.

Samantha Fish has received practically every accolade a contemporary blues singer/songwriter/guitarist could hope for. She's a festival headliner with multiple Blues Music Awards, who has graced the cover of guitar magazines and toured internationally to packed houses. Fish commands her cathartic shows with her edgy vocal delivery and in-your-face slide guitar. Jesse Dayton is an American musician, actor and record producer best known for his guitar contributions to albums by country musicians including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. He is also notable for his collaborations with horror film director Rob Zombie, who has commissioned Dayton on multiple occasions to record music to accompany his films. In recent years Dayton has released several critically acclaimed solo albums. Together Fish and Dayton teamed up with Producer Jon Spencer of the electrifying Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion for Death Wish Blues, the first collaboration for the duo. Cheat To Win is the second album released by the obscure melodic hard rock/glam metal band from US Utah in 1985. Singer Rick "The Jack" Jackson was previously a member of MEGATTAK. The album contains 7 tracks, including a cover of THE BEATLES' "Dear Prudence" and BADFINGER's "Day After Day", plus 2 bonus tracks, for a total of 9 tracks. Remastered. Like the first album, Rock Elite, reissued at the same time, this is a great album with a poppy and catchy melodic hard rock/glam metal sound, so aficionados are advised to buy the two albums together. In 1984, The Jack was the top act in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Jack was one of the first glam metal bands to come out of Utah. Rick Jackson had a unique, raspy voice that would appeal to fans of Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot) while the band played a mix of glammy hard rock with melodic keyboards. After the release of this album, Rick moved to L.A. and began working with Phil Sandoval, the original guitarist for ARMORED SAINT, after which the band broke up.
