Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose - Classic Masters [Remastered] (2002)

Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose's edition of Capitol's Classic Masters series finds the smooth soul group in prime form. Their hits are here -- "Treat Her Like a Lady," "Too Late to Turn Back Now," "Don't Ever Be Lonely" -- along with some singles that only made an impact on the R&B charts, as well as a few album tracks. The three big singles are undoubtedly the best songs here, with some of the secondary material running toward a supper club feel, but even the weaker moments have a pleasant sound reminiscent of the hits -- pleasant enough, it should satisfy most fans who like the sound of the hits as much as the songs. This, along with the fairly shrewd selection, make this collection one of the better Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose compilations yet released.
