Plus qu’une sortie, ce disque est avant tout la r?habilitation d’un album pirate. En effet, cet album unique du guitariste Carl Harvey (Lead guitare de Toots & The Maytals depuis 25 ans) se trouvait dans les bacs jusqu’? il y a quelques ann?es, pr?sent? comme un album de Lee Perry intitul? Guitar Boogie Dub. Mais pas du tout ! C’est un album dub-instrumental de Carl Harvey et Bunny Lee. Jama?cain du Canada, Carl Harvey se rend ? Kingston en 1978 avec le chanteur Willi Williams et le clavi?riste Jackie Mittoo pour boucler des sessions de studio. Bunny Lee, qui assiste ? l’une d’entre elle, flashe litt?ralement sur ce guitariste tr?s inspir? de Hendrix et Santana. Il veut l’enregistrer. La veille de son retour pour le Canada, Carl Harvey passe une nuit en studio et pose dix sons de guitare sur dix gros dubs de Bunny Lee. Ainsi naquit Ecstasy of Mankind, l’un des tr?s rares albums de reggae-dub-instu-guitare, aujourd’hui r?habilit? avec son histoire.
