VA - Love Funk - 12 Classic Funk Hits (2000)

Love Funk: 12 Classic Funk Hits is a decent, but unspectacular mid-priced collection of funk and '80s urban dance music. Funk standards like the Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster," Rose Royce's "Car Wash," Parliament's "Tear the Roof Off the Sucker (Give Up the Funk)," the Commodores' "Brick House," and the Dazz Band's "Let It Whip" are packaged with a selection of lesser-known tracks (albeit mostly by well-known artists) that nonetheless reached the Top Ten on the R&B charts. There are better packages available for listeners just looking for a funk sampler featuring big hits, most of them containing the aforementioned songs, but it does feature some tunes that don't make it to compilations very often.
