Чумовая группа. Интересно, как насчет прокомментировать альбом.
Power Of Zeus released their one and only album on theRare Earth label in 1970. The Gospel According To Zeus is an inspired amalgam of screaming rock histrionics, oddball psychedelic strangeness and some of themost intuitively funky yet blisteringly heavy music ever committed to tape. Thealbum has become highly sought after by breakbeat collectors, hip hop producersand other such connoisseurs of aged vinyl because of the lengthy "open" (ie solo) drum break in the final track, The Sorcerer Of Isis (The Ritual Of The Mole). The record currently sells for around 80-90 from break dealers. A CD reissue was made available in the late 90s but that is also relatively scarce.
Pretty good hard rock with two softer songs thrown in. The lighter songs are ok, but the songs where the band can stretch out are the best. Parallels to Spooky Tooth and especially Vanilla Fudge could be made, though this band isn't as good as them. "It Couldn't Be Me" is an adequate opener with a pounding rhythm, solid guitar riffs, and effective Hammond organ runs. "In the Night" moves the organ more to the forefront, in addition to the incorporation of some vocal harmonies. "Green Grass and Clover" switches to a very-folky sounding track, with a harpsichord, organ and acoustic guitar. "The Death Trip" is very haunting with good background vocals, really down tempo hard guitars and faint organ. "Uncertain Destruction" sounds a bit like Green Grass. The final track, over six minutes, has the band jamming a bit and it pretty good.
