"The Demos: 1985 & 1986" is a compilation of the three first demos of the Thrash/Heavy Metal band from Switzerland Drifter. This band only released two albums "Reality Turns To Dust" in 1989 and "Nowhere To Hide" in 1989 but it seems that they found the way to have a good fan-base and above all, recognition. Lately, the young label StormSpell Records decided to re-release their demos in a re-mastered version, and well after all, it can be a good way to discover this band, especially if you like "old school" music.

This CD is just plain awesome. People have been waiting 4 years to hear Acrimony's last tracks, and they don't disappoint. They were one of the best bands when Stoner Rock was first emerging as a genre. With Church of Misery you will not be able to avoid banging your head or tapping your toes when you hear it. The music is spectacular.

Acrimony is a psychedelic stoner doom band from the UK. They did a split with Church of Misery, which is what led me to this album. They describe themselves as "psychedelic space doom"

Formed in the early '90s, Acrimony was one of the first British exponents of American-bred stoner rock. While bands like Cathedral and Paradise Lost displayed an obsessive fondness for the monolithic down-tuned riffs of Black Sabbath, Acrimony borrowed liberally from the more groove-oriented classic rock stylings of American groups like Monster Magnet and especially Kyuss.

В 2008 году группу покинул Хакиус, и на его место пришел Эмил Амос. Впрочем, эта замена существенно не повлияла на музыку коллектива. Важнее другое – на последнем альбоме Om добавил к двум изначальным инструментам несколько других. Om смогли воспользоваться новыми инструментами по полной, вдохнув свежую струю в собственную музыку и сделав ее более «живой». После альбомов подобного рода всегда остается послевкусие – и ожидание полной реализации заложенных на нем новых возможностей.
