The presence of guest stars Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Mark Knopfler helped raise his profile, but Guy provided all the necessary firepower to make this a defining moment in his career, playing and singing with passion, pride and fury. The album was the first of several for Guy to win both Grammy and W.C. Handy (Blues Music) awards.
