Eddie Condon was a good rhythm guitarist but will be remembered for his extraordinary skills as bandleader and organizer of concerts, festivals, radio and television broadcasts and recording sessions, talents which have made him a great figure in the history of traditional jazz.
Condon may not have taken any solos, but his spirit and joy are felt throughout this album (he is the unofficial leader of all sessions) and on every date in which he appeared. He was one of the most underrated behind-the-scenes giants of jazz.
