Jan Hammer (playing LOTS of minimoog and tasty rhodes), Don Alias (playing drums and some perc in a fiery style), Gene Perla (tight, warm, deep groove on the bass) & Grossman's excellent jazz chops ala Coltrane add up to one hell of an exciting mid seventies fusion-funk ensemble. Nice soloing by everyone, though some of the songs are not really memorable and not exactly complicated. They serve more as a perfect vehicle for the improvisations. This is sort of a Miles influenced early seventies fusion band, tinged with a small dose of Mahavishnu (courtesy, of course, of Hammer)and a Coltrane influence in the wind department. Recommended if you dig this sort of stuff!Tracklist:01. Katonah (Grossman) [6:43]
