OST-KRAUT: the two-part double CD series - a long overdue addition to our KRAUT!-Edition - comprehensively documents the history of
progressive rock in the GDR for the first time with studio and live recordings!
Progressive Rock from the German Democratic Republic! The GDR scene has never been so extensively honored with studio and live recordings. Bear Family Records ® uses well-known rarities and some rarities that have never been released on sound recordings to document what happened in GDR
rock away from the mainstream. 'Progressives from GDR Archives' brings together the crème of the former
rock scene of the GDR and the socialist foreign countries on a total of four CDs with recordings for AMIGA and the German Radio Archive (DRA).
The titles on this second and last part were created between 1976 and 1982 and were again stylishly compiled by the journalist and Ostrock connoisseur Marcus Heumann. Recordings of the Stern Meissen Combo, City, electra or Lift are just some of the many highlights of this double CD. The 80-page booklet with numerous illustrations, photos and biographies of the bands and musicians clearly reflects the history of
progressive rock in the GDR.
