In 2002 there was a compilation released entitled "Back from the Zone" which represents ABEL GANZ at its best! Two songs from "The Dangers of Strangers" re-recorded here in a better quality ("The Dangers of Strangers part1" and "Dreamtime") and they sound even more catchier! Some songs are completely new to my ears like powerful and complex "The Unholy War" (reminds me of MARILLION's "Emerald Lies" or "Market Square Heroes"), beautiful "The Pretender" with pipes and flutes (what a great FOLKISH flavour!) and 16- min long epic "The Dead Zone" (in best IQ /PENDRAGON /COLLAGE traditions!!!). Closing "Ventura" is very mellow track, kinda "what if CAMEL played "Cinema Show" ;)
After all, a very pleasant record and A MUST for every Neo-Prog collector. If you stuck to old "80s" style of MARILLION and IQ, you'll find it in ABEL GANZ! They're not copycats - they just COULD be another Greats in Neo like PENDRAGON or PALLAS. Hope, they'll recieve what they do really deserve! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
