THE BAND:
Marco Cimino (piano fender, synthesizer); Marco Gallesi (bass); Arturo Vitale (sax); Gianni Cinti (sax soprano, oboe); Aldo Rindone (piano); Marco Astarita (percussion); Claudio Montafia (flute, guitar); Mike Abate (guitar); Giorgio Diaferia (drums) Featuring members of Arti e Mestieri, this instrumental album really cooks. Jazz-rock in a Canterbury way recalling the instrumental sections of the first Hatfield & the North album perfectly in some places. The flute playing in particular is stunning but the rest of the band is fine indeed! Second release from this legendary Italian band playing jazz-rock in the vein of Arti e Mestieri or Il Baricentro. This is an archival release made up of two studio tracks and 5 live tracks. The live tracks are from a concert on Feb. 25, 1977. The studio tracks sound great and the live tracks sound good too, but the recording was somewhat lacking on the bottom end so they sound a little thin as do many live recordings of the era. Still a very enjoyable document of a little known group of the Italian jazz-rock scene!
