CAFEINE's music is a mix between jazz-rock, 70's progressive rock and 80's neo-progressive rock. Much of the music is very intriguing with reminiscences to BRAND X, KING CRIMSON, MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, MAGMA and FRANK ZAPPA, but there's also lots of quieter moments with good melodies in-between the complex instrumental passages. These quieter moments reminds of ANGE and MARILLION. This is a very strong debut CD and it's almost as good as their follow-up "Nouveaux Mondes" (2000). Recommended!
