ASCENSION THEORY - REGENERATION - 2002

ASCENSION THEORY begin as a recording project between Tim Becker and Leon Ozug in 2002.Becker was one of the founders and main songwriters for progressive metal band AZTEC JADE,and Ozug was their lead singer.ASCENSION THEORY'S first album "Regeneration",was released in 2004.Becker programmed all the drum,bass and keyboard parts,while Ozug played all guitars and sang vocals.The album received good reviews and ASCENSION THEORY were picked up by the independent Nightmare Records.2005 saw them release their second album,"Answers".Chad Lenig was brought into the fold to play drums as well as to help engineer and write and produce new music.Highly recommended to fans of progressive metal,ASCENION THEORY'S sound is similar to bands like VANDEN PLAS,SHADOW GALLERY And VANISHING POINT

The most pleasant musical surprise I've had for a long time. This band should be in your CD player beside Dream Theater and every other Magna Carta release. No, it should be ahead of most of them. The song writing here is very strong, and vocally, I've not heard a more pleasing voice in a long time. There exists here range, power, tone, and melodic sensibility.

The production on Regeneration is equally strong and with some fine imagery, this group is, in my opinion, poised for big things. Do youself a favor and go buy this one.
