"Postango" is a delightful album which crosses all sorts of musical boundaries and takes the listener to a wonderful intersection of tango, jazz, and chamber music. Comprised of jazz guitar, cello, bass, and drums, Quetango is a mix of French-Canadian and Argentinean musicianship, and that multi-cultural blend lends some wonderful influence to these original compositions. From the electric guitar-driven jazz of "Erreur" to the syncopated tango rhythms of the cello-driven "Impro", which even has a few nods to the 70s prog rock of Yes, this album covers a lot of ground and stays interesting from beginning to end.

One of the best of the short lived Mexican progressive scene, who plays a melodic music rich in shifting moods and feels, with lots of improvising. There are vocals, but the instrumental parts are very reminiscent of the 70's Italian sound - particularly PFM and QUELLA VECCHIA LOCANDA. This is due to the violin that is featured on half of the tracks. Recommended.

Эта американская группа была основана в 1973 году. С самого начала в качестве ориентира была взята музыка британских «монстров» прогрессивного рока YES и GENTLE GIANT. Но, до уровня YES и GENTLE GIANT, группа не дотянула. В конце семидесятых интерес к их музыке иссяк, и в 1981 году они приняли решение разойтись. В начале девяностых был переиздан альбом «Boris». К этому событию был приурочен реюнион YEZDA URFA, и группа продолжает выступать до сих пор, но о выпуске нового альбома, или о каких-то крупномасштабных акциях речи, к сожалению, не шло.

Review Album:
Once again Cerberus Shoal delivers a studio album with a surprising stylistic turn. In the case of this, their third album, the band takes a cue from the likes of Joe Jackson’s late 80s faux classical releases ‘Will Power’ and ‘Heaven and Hell’; or maybe even some John Cage. Also like their other albums the band manages to sound both slightly dated and timeless simultaneously. That’s quite a trick by the way. There is some resemblance to the journeyman trio Group 87 here as well...
