It was originally released on August 9, 1994, but was later re-released on July 22, 1997. Due to it being a re-release, the album couldn't make it to the Billboard 200 or any other regular charts, but it did make it to #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Catalog Albums.

The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are is the first album by hip-hop group the 2 Live Crew. It was released in 1986 on Luke Records to a great deal of controversy and promptly was certified gold by the RIAA. It includes the hits "We Want Some Pussy," "Throw the 'D'," and "Cuttin' it Up." Bob Rosenberg, a south Florida DJ who would later form the dance-pop group Will to Power, remixed and edited the song "Beat Box." In Florida, it was deemed obscene, and one store clerk was charged with felony corruption of a minor for selling it to one 14-year-old girl. The clerk was later acquitted

Fast Cars, Danger, Fire and Knives is an EP by American hip hop artist Aesop Rock, his fifth major release and his fourth through the Definitive Jux label. Released on February 22, 2005 (see 2005 in music), the record is produced by Blockhead and Aesop Rock himself, who each contribute three tracks, and by Rob Sonic, who provides the remaining one. Vocals are handled by Aesop Rock, with guest appearances from Camu Tao and Metro of S.A. Smash, Cage and Def Jux label head El-P. All scratches are performed by DJ Big Wiz.

The title is a reference to the manga created by Masamune Shirow. The artwork was for this EP was done by Aesop Rock & Neal Usatin.The track "Dryspell" liberally samples the song "Peace" by Ornette Coleman.

It was released on April 7, 1998 for Lil' Joe Records and with the absence of Mr. Mixx, was produced by various producers. The album was not a success, peaking at #59 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. By the time of this album, Mr. Mixx had again left the group and shortly after the release of this album, Brother Marquis left as well.
