This Was Supposed to Be the Future is the third studio album by The Nextmen. It was released in June 2007 on Antidote Records. It was a change in their sound; a prevalence of songs over rap tracks. Ten different vocalists appear on the album. Zarif appears the most, with three tracks, and LSK and Dynamite MC both appear twice. The first single was "Let It Roll", featuring Alice Russell. The second single was "Something Got You", featuring singer-songwriter Zarif. At their album launch, The Nextmen performed as a full 10 piece band, with members of the Part Time Heroes.

Born Raphael Mussard in Marseille, Larage made his debut in the group "Soul Swing And Radikal" under the pseudonym "Raff Rage". In 1998 he released his solo album titled C'est ma Cause. His brother Shurik'N is a member of rap group IAM); together they released an album called La Garde in 2000.In 2003, along with Eben (2Neg) and under the pseudonym of "Gomez & Dubois", he released the album Cops and off-the-law parodying the world's policemen. The album received an award in France in 2004 for best rap album.

В Париже в результате трагического происшествия погиб известный французский хип-хоп и хаус продюсер DJ Mehdi, сообщает Pitchfork. Ему было 34 года.
Информацию о смерти Фрая Мехди Фавери-Эссади (настоящее имя артиста, уроженца Туниса) подтвердил представитель его выпускающего лейбла Ed Banger Records.
Трагический инцидент произошел во вторник, 13 сентября, во время вечеринки на крыше резиденции в Париже — она неожиданно обвалилась, и три человека упали с большой высоты на плексигласовую крышу пристройки, проломив ее.
Мехди погиб на месте, двое его друзей получили серьезные травмы.
Выпустивший первые записи еще подростком Мехди участвовал в группах Different Teep, Ideal J, Mafia K’1 Fry, его общая дискография насчитывает десятки пластинок.
