Virgin celebrates its brief love affair with reggae music in the late 70's and early eighties with this sumptuous five CD set featuring 92 tracks lifted from the Virgin / Front Line catalogue, including 30 tracks new to CD and 11 previously unreleased. All the artists, many signed at the recommendation of Johnny Rotten and Don Letts, flown to the island in 1978 by Richard Branson, though some had records issued by Virgin prior to this, are represented, including the Mighty Diamonds, U Roy, Johnny Clarke, I Roy, The Gladiators, Keith Hudson, Culture, Tapper Zukie, Big Youth, Prince Far I, Twinkle Brothers, Gregory Isaacs, Abyssinians and many, many more.
