The Lee Perry sessions are esteemed to be absolute Reggae classics. Lee Perry's productions with Bob Marley are considered to be defining moments in the evolution of Reggae and critical to introducing the artist to an international audience, which resulted in Bob Marley becoming the most widely known and revered performer of Reggae music. In turn Bob Marley helped spread both Jamaican music and the Rastafari movement to a worldwide audience.

This double album collection contains the cream of the crop of the Lee “Scratch” Perry sessions, which originally appeared on the producer’s Upsetter Records label, with an additional 10 bonus tracks produced by Leslie Kong for his Beverly Records label, prior to the band's involvement with Lee Perry.
