German drummer Charly Eichert was enough of a romantic to believe in the realisation of his idea, which consisted in essence of the audacious plan of activacting some of his favourite musicians from the 1960?s for an Olympic summit meeting. On the other hand, Charly Eichert the concert promoter, knew only too well from his own experience how difficult it can be to nail down only one much-sought-after musician for a fixed date n let alone getting a whole load of highgrade individualists together at the same time. The rest of the story is history and quickly told: Once cold and snowy winter day shortly before Christmas (December 22nd 1981) the Olympic musicians met in the studio in order to five of their best in sportive cooperation. In doing so they were not looking for medals and trophies, but for the soul of their communal music. And therefore the sparks flew and the music blazed so tremendously... ~ Manfred Gillig-Degrave
