Fifty Foot Hose were essentially a studio band that only played a handful of gigs during their 18 months together. They set out to fuse avant-garde attitudes to just about every piece of noise-making electronic equipment they could get their hands on, including sirens, audio generators, oscillators and Theremins. They also had a major asset in the distinctive voice of Nancy Blossom.

In concert their audiences were usually left completely perplexed & bewildered when confronted by their wall of noise. Given their radical attitude to music they were guaranteed not to find a major audience and the group quickly folded. Cauldron, however, is an interesting look at the work of a band that were perhaps ahead of their times and still makes for fascinating if uncomfortable listening.
