David Earl Lewis grew up in Monahans, Texas, and moved to Tarzana, California in 1971. His first record was released as Dave Lewis, a single "The Loneliest Cowboy" (1975). His first album, "Just Mollie And Me... " (as David Lewis) was released in 1976 by Tiger Lily Records. His second album, "Hold on to the Dream" was released as David Earl Lewis, as has been his subsequent albums.
