Big George and the Business featuring George Ross Watt CD albums from Ozit Morpheus / Cargo. Big George Ross Watt band leader of Big George and the Business sadly passed away on April 2nd 2013. Raised in Yoker Glasgow he took his gritty
blues to major international
blues festivals across North America and Europe and became hugely influential on many younger musicians. Highly influenced by Rory Gallagher, Paul Kossoff and Jimi Hendrix George formed his first band Blackwater whilst still at school. He then played with the Glasgow
Blues Legends and Rollin Joe and The Jets before teaming up with Jimmy Dewar formerly of Stone The Crows and The Robin Trower band. Eventually with Dewar retiring with ill health George eventually settled with the line up of Big George and the Business. George s first album The Alleged Album was funded through his father s shipyard redundancy. George was almost as known for his self deprecating humour as his exceptional guitar and vocal skills. ..raw and down to the bone." "George's legendary status in Glasgow was fuelled by his debut album The Alleged Album on vinyl selling out in the first three days from when it hit the shops. The first thousand copies were snaffled up and the "Alleged Album" gained it's title as a result of the sold out bins..." ".Big George has the most unusual voice and he has the most incredible guitar style and feel, and when you combine these talents with a really good backing band in the form of Tam McLucas on bass and Greg Orr on drums, you have some serious
blues/
rock magic in the making!
