__Соскучились по хорошему звучанию ? ОК, вот рецепт: •Возьмите щепотку Rare Earth, немного Iron Butterfly, Rhinoceros, совсем чуть-чуть Vanilla Fudge и много-много Sly & the Family Stone. Приправьте всё это малым количеством Booker T. & the MG's и Jeff Beck Group. Don't Cry To Me•, их первый лонгплей не был записан до 1971, когда они сменили имя на The Elders.

--------- ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ---------
•Originally named "The Others", the group started as two separate bands which shuffled members and merged to become what would later be known as; "The ELDERS". Early in their career, they performed mostly in and around Southwestern Ohio. •With their original membership, the "Others" recorded their first song for release on a 1966 compilation album of music from local bands in the Dayton area called; "The Dayton Scene", a project underwritten by a local radio station. Shortly thereafter, they recorded a "B" side, and released the two songs as a "single" on the same record label; "Prism Records". •As time went on, the band's membership evolved, their local popularity rose, and they attracted offers from a number of record labels, agents, and management firms. Around this time, another band called: "The Others" released a single on a national label, and, having not copyrighted the name, the group decided on a name change. It was to be "The ELDERS" (the name is in CAPS because that was the way the word appeared on their logo, in Arnold Bocklyn typeface). •Under a new management and production contract, they recorded their only released album; "Looking for the Answer", for Audio Fidelity Records in 1971. That album went into worldwide distribution shortly thereafter, and onward into oblivion shortly after that. •The band continued to tour, perform, and record for five years thereafter (sounds like a good name for a rock band, doesn't it?), a total band-life of ten years. They recorded a number of pieces for a new, self-produced album, but musical styles changed, marriages came and went, and financial and other pressures finally did the band in. They dissolved slowly over a period of time between 1973 and 1975.
•The ELDERS were a rock and roll band that existed between 1966 and 1976, and toured around much of the eastern United States over that period of time. The members of the band are now old, fat, slovenly, and fairly peculiar (at least, according to their neighbors). •Despite the ravages of the many years since they parted ways, they nonetheless have a new CD in recent release. It isn’t really a “new” record. It’s actually a re-release of their first album from 1971 called; “Looking for the Answer” (GearFab Records, # GF-244). The album was recorded long before cell phones and Facebook, so that may explain why it has taken so long for it to garner any attention. •There are other equally plausible explanations, but we’ll stick with that one for the time being. •The ELDERS began their musical journey as “The Others”, but when another band released a record under that name, it was a bit like grabbing the first “dot-com” domain; first come, first served. So they changed their name to “the ELDERS”, and from that time on suffered much derision by their peers in the rock and roll business as; “the Old Men”. •Well, now that they literally are “old men”, such taunts mean little, and now they have no particular problem in presenting their works, as well as their story, here for all you history buffs to peruse at your pleasure. The ELDERS, whatever they may have been, are now whatever they may be to a new generation of music fans.
•Hungry of the good sounds? OK, here's the recipe - take a bit of Rare Earth, a little Iron Butterfly, Rhinoceros, very little of Vanilla Fudge, and large amount of Sly & the Family Stone. Season with a little of Booker T. & the MG's and a little of Jeff Beck Group. It wont hurt if you add a grain of sound of the later Hendrix guitar. All this is nice to cook for musical line in the next 30 minutes, and this delicious blend is called The Elders. You'll probably want more after eating one portion. And another , and another... etc. Do not worry, the Elders won’t make you fat. •When you see the cover of their album from 1971. you'd probably expect a fierce hard rock riffs, maybe a little bit in the style of Black Sabbath, because the cover has a skull which stands on an open book - probably in the laboratory of an alchemist searching for the elixir of eternal life, who knows. But when the album starts and the notes dance, surprise is following. No, not at all as it seems, there is no dark Sabbath riffs, but very playful soul rock, with plenty of wah wah guitar (which makes them close to Sly & the Family Stone), and funky rhythms that push the body to move. •Although the beginnings of the group go back to 1965/66 in the garage rock band Jerry and the Others, the first LP wasn’t recorded until 1971, after they changed their name to The Elders. River of musical evolution is always in a hurry ahead, and with that fact in mind I have to admit that they sound a bit delayed because their sound is more fit in 1968 – but is certainly not an negative criticism. After all, there are so many good bands in a backward stage of development of music. In any case, the Elders will always be welcome at my line - whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
