With their fourth album "Cryptic Aura", AZURE EMOTE offer a tour de force through the outer stellar realms of death metal where the musical possibilities seem to become infinite and to expand into all directions and dimensions until the gravity of ultra heavy sound pulls everything back into a crushing event horizon. Haxprocess are playing incredibly heavy death metal music - leaden, thick and dark, and are somehow attempting to go progressive wielding that sound. It's like Morbid Angel covering The Chasm songs under the influence of Blood Incantation. This is but a vague comparison just to get some idea of what this ambitious band is trying to do over here. It's death metal through-and-through but they're doing so much with it, it would bring a tear to any classic fan of the genre. They insist on having only epic songs averaging 10 minutes; the album has only four songs and it lasts for just as long as a normal album would. The music however is relentless in its barrage of gargantuan otherworldly riffs, what with the ever-changing patterns and combinations, albeit delivered in a comfortable pace so that everything can be registered for posterity. It's an album that can withstand endless listens, offer everything a death metal fan would want and yet do so much more than an average album would because of their constantly evolving music that manages to remain engrossing as well. This is as epic as a death metal album can possibly get without letting go of any of the heaviness that's an inherent part of the band's sound over here.

When Post Animal stepped into the studio for their new album, it was the first time all six original members were in the studio together for nearly a decade. Three band members had recently relocated away from Chicago, not to mention Joe Keery having left the band in 2017 to focus on acting. In the end they started right back up at the beginning, rediscovering that uncompromising closeness of connection they all shared from those endless hours spent in practice spaces and the late-night diner runs that follow. Prolonged stretches of time together not only reinforced the strength of their friendship—it reinvigorated their music. “If you want to get one hour of good painting in, you have to have four hours of uninterrupted time,” David Lynch once said. The product of a few straight weeks together, IRON (due July 25th) not only finds them reunited with Keery but is the embodiment of 30 days of camaraderie and unbound musical exploration, their renewed connection ironclad.

Hailing from Santiago, Chile’s IRON SPELL was founded in mid-2013 by drummer and composer Felipe Carvajal (Steelhammer), initially with the idea of ​​making a classic heavy metal album with friends, mixing the mysticism and darkness of King Diamond and Black Sabbath with hard & heavy rock from the ‘70s and ‘80s like KISS, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister, and WA.S.P. The lack of commitment and involvement of some musicians considerably delayed the process, and what was going to be a full-length ended up being a four-song EP, Heavy Metal Witchcraft. Shortly after, the band uploaded Heavy Metal Witchcraft to social media, and the word spread fast: in a few weeks, it was released in Europe on 7″ vinyl, cassette, and CD by three different labels, with DYING VICTIMS being the first ones to believe in IRON SPELL and release this recording on cassette.
