Pho - Cash It (2015)

We are PHO, a progressive funk band based out of the greater MINNEAPOLIS - ST.PAUL MN area. Currently we are in the process of producing and releasing our debut album CASH IT. In only two years PHO has become a main staple figure in the development of the rising funk and live music scene in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area. PHO has played venues such as First Ave Main Room, The Cabooze, 7th St. Entry, The Cedar Cultural Center, The Dakota, Triple Rock Social Club, Fine Line, The MN State Fair, and many more. PHO has shared the stage with heavy hitters such as Dopapod, Jonothan Richman, James Andrews, Oddisee, and Jon Wayne & the Pain.
We are currently in the process of finishing CASH IT. September 19th - 21st we spent an amazing weekend at the Hideaway Studios in North East Minneapolis laying down the basic tracking with the help of Jason McGlone. We will be sending the album to Alan Evans (drummer of Soulive) to be mixed. After that we will send the album to Salt Mastering (based in Brooklyn New York) to complete the recording process. This is a very exciting time for us collaborating and creating the best debut album possible to be released this WINTER.
CASH IT, is a timeless album that is accessible to all ears young and old. Being an all instrumental album is a challenge in itself, but we assure you that it is an album that will satisfy all of your listening needs. The album resembles a melting pot of influences from old school (THE TIME, JAMES BROWN, JOHNNY GUITAR WATSON, PARLIAMENT, RICK JAMES, PRINCE) to the social media mecca of YouTube new school (LETTUCE, MEDESKI MARTIN & WOOD, SOULIVE, SNARKY PUPPY, D'ANGLEO, THE ROOTS, and TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE).
In order to bring CASH IT to you this WINTER, a few things must happen. As we all know great projects require funding and in order to bring you the album we need some extra help from you. We have done some basic financial calculations and have estimated that for all of the studio time, mastering, editing, mixing, album artwork, and cd/vinyl production it will cost us around $6,000. We have many incentives to boot as well as exciting events (TBA) around the release of CASH IT. Any donation large/small or any additional help (sharing via social media, status shout outs, or positive vibes) is extremely appreciated.
Lastly, PHO as a band would like to thank all of our fans for the outrageous support over the last two years. We have come a long way in a very short amount of time. With our successes we realize more than ever that we still have a long way to go. Upon the completion of this album and the continued support from our amazing fans, it will open many doors to new opportunities that we otherwise would not have had access to.
