Following the highly acclaimed debut of Ôtrium in 2021, trumpeter and composer Quentin Ghomari now presents his second album, ÔTRIUM - deuxième mouvement – an intuitive, vibrant continuation of his personal journey in chamber jazz.
The trio Ôtrium, featuring trumpet, double bass, and drums, was born out of Ghomari's desire to give his musical language more space and independence. The name is a neologism combining "trio" and the Latin otium – a term that describes "creative leisure": a conscious, creative retreat in which art and thought can mature.
Deuxième mouvement speaks of being on the move. Sometimes hesitant, sometimes floating, sometimes determined, but always in the moment. Music that breathes, moves, seeks to prove nothing, yet tells a story.
